Washburn Community Outreach Center

Casar Easter Bash

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Rutherford County, Sat. April 1, 4-10pm at Charles Summey Park in Forest City. This is the signature fundraising event for ACS in which survivors are celebrated and honored. The Relay will commence with a survivor walk at 4pm followed by entertainment, fundraising and a luminaria ceremony at dusk. This is a free event and open to the public. Paws of Rutherford County

Two low cost spay and neuter transports, Tues. April 11 & 25. Cats: $25, any size dogs: $35 if they have a current rabies vaccination. If they do not, there will be an additional $10 charge. Paws in need of cat food for our food bank and has placed a bin in Tractor Supply in Spindale for donations.

Pink Ladies Support Group: 1st Monday of each month from 5pm to 6:30pm at Rutherford Regional's Cancer Resource Center; for women who have been diagnosed with cancer. 828-245-4596.

Sons of Confederate Veterans

The Polk Volunteers Camp # 919 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans invites you to meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month, and we love to have visitors. Open Wed. thru Sat., 10am-4pm. Proceeds benefit the Rutherford County Humane Society, a no-kill, non-profit 501(C)(3) animal rescue organization.
