Rutherford County Guardian ad Litem needs volunteer advocates for children. Becoming a GAL child advocate is a volunteer opportunity like no other. You will help a child have a voice in the decisions affecting their future, while learning more about our local courts and family services. Being a child advocate for G.A.L. is challenging, rewarding, and has a real impact on a child's life. Volunteers have access to full-time staff support, an attorney advocate, annual training opportunities, and monthly support meetings with other volunteers. Please visit: volunteerforgal.org to apply. Washburn Community Outreach Center Thrift Store: Well stocked with Spring/Summer clothing. ALL ladies clothing will be .50ยข each. Also, we have scrubs, stop in and check us out. Paws of RC's Low Cost Spay and Neuter: Tues. July 11 & 25. Cats: $25. Dogs: $35. If they need a rabies vaccination: $10 charge. Call, 888-422-7303. Also collecting gently worn shoes. Drop off at Tractor Supply in Spindale or call 888-422-7303 to arrange pick up. Proceeds used in our spay and neuter program and the shoes will benefit those in impoverished countries.

Willow Ridge Rehab & Rutherford County Veterans Feeding the Community; Donations will be given to families with children in need in Rutherford County. Collections distributed July 21. Pink Ladies Support Group: 1st Monday of each month from 5pm to 6:30pm at Rutherford Regional's Cancer Resource Center; for women who have been diagnosed with cancer. 828-245-4596.
