Alzheimers/Dementia Caregivers Support Group: meets every 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Perry Moore house, next to First United Methodist Church on Main St. in Rutherfordfordton. All caregivers are welcome and there is no charge to attend.

Stroke Support Group: 3rd Tuesday of each month from 3:30-5pm in the Crawford Building (Auxiliary Room) at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. 828-286-5509.

Emergency Personnel Appreciation

The Shake Shop in Spindale would like to show our appreciation to the emergency personnel in the county by feeding them on Thurs. Aug. 18, 7am-3pm. Any current first responders in the county are welcome to come and have one free meal with us. Please have ID to receive free meal.

Isothermal Amateur Radio Club

Crafternoons

Mountains Branch Library offers a "Crafternoon" for kids on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 4-5 pm. Simple crafts and a snack.

The Friends of Agriculture Breakfasts

Sponsored by the Polk County Farm Bureau, held every 3rd Wednesday of the month, 7am-8am at the 4-H Center; 135 Locust St., Columbus. Each breakfast features a speaker on areas of interest to our community of farmers, gardeners, and food enthusiasts.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

Rutherford County Chapter's New Adoption Center and Thrift Store; 1366 US 221 N. Rutherfordton.
