Rutherford County Chess Club
Meets each Wednesday night, starting Jan. 8, 5:30pm at 175 N. Main St., Rutherfordton (Law office of Marvin Sparrow and John Byrd, across from Kid Senses). Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome, from 5 to 105, beginners to masters. 64 Squares.

Beginner Honey Bee School

ECA Scholarship 
Rutherford County Extension & Community Association (ECA) announces its 2014 scholarships. High school seniors, full-time college students, and adults wanting to attend college are eligible. North Carolina residents planning to attend a NC accredited college, community college or technical institute in the fall of 2014 may apply. Applications available at all high schools and Cooperative Extension. The North Carolina ECA Scholarship deadline is February 1, and the Rutherford County ECA Scholarship deadline is April 1. Domestic Violence Education/Support Group: Women who are victims of domestic abuse, or who never want to become victims, are invited to a free Domestic Violence Education/Support Group which meets 2 hours each week on Tuesdays.
