Mental Illness Support Group
Holland House is a not-for-profit consumer-run Drop-In Center for adults with mental illnesses. It is a place for adults to meet and talk with their peers, obtain community resource information, to hang-out when other services are not open and to be among people who share similar experiences. Every Sunday at 2pm. 475 West Main St., Forest City.

Bingo at the VFW 
Every Thursday night at 6PM. Refreshments & food are available for purchase. The top prize for the last game is $500. Proceeds from bingo benefit veterans in the surrounding communities. Located on Withrow Road. Forest City.
Free Parenting Skills Classes
Nurturing Parents class for parents, grandparents, stepparents, and care givers of children birth to 12 meets every Thurs. Sept. 6-Nov. 29, 10:30-12:30; Nurturing Parents class for parents and their teens together meets every Thurs. evening 5:30-7:30, Sept. 6-Nov. 29. All classes meet in Forest City Housing, Apt. Mental Illness Awareness Week: The School of Psychology and Counseling at Gardner Webb University has teamed up with NAMI Rutherford-Cleveland for an awareness week event at pre-game for the Gardner-Webb University vs. Mid-America Nazarene University football game on Sat. Oct. 13. An on field balloon release and announcement will occur shortly before 6pm kickoff.  Info will be available at a booth manned by students and mental health volunteers at the Henderson Family Gate.
 
Disc Golf Tournament
The Dale Sollars Autumn Classic disc golf tournament at South Mountain Christian Camp will mark the official opening of the 18-hole South Mountain Disc Golf Course. Oct. 27-28. Widow/Widower’s Lunch Bunch

The Military Order of Purple Heart
