American Legion Post 74

Washburn Community Outreach Center

Overstocked with Fall and Winter clothing, we need canned goods for our Food Pantry. We will trade clothing items for in date canned goods; one can good for one item of clothing and so on. We also have a great selection of household items, and various Christmas items. Keep in mind our food pantry will be available for Rutherford County residents. The New Hope Community MLK Committee

Invites all who want to join the MLK Choir for the upcoming 2017 MLK program. Choir rehearsal is scheduled for Fri. Nov. 18, 6-7:30pm at St. John AME Zion Church, 109 North Ridgecrest Ave. Rutherfordton. All are invited to join the choir.

Rutherford County Toy Run

Sun. Nov. 20, meet at old K-Mart next to Denny's at 12:30pm, depart at 1:30pm. Ride will end at the National Guard Armory. Food served for All Participants. 50/50 drawing will be held at the Armory and door prizes to be given away! Hosted By: Prior Moose Lodge Members & Cleveland County Independent Bikers.

FREE Spay and Neuter

Paws of RC is thrilled to announce a FREE Spay and Neuter on Tues. Nov. 22 for Pit Bulls and Pit Mixes who live in our county. We will be doing a total of 50 dogs, which will include 25 females and 25 males. In order to do this many large dogs we will need some of the owners to supply their own plastic crates. If you don't have one, please try and borrow one. Please call 888-422-7303, leave a message and a volunteer will call you back.

Town of Forest City Events

Thurs. Nov. 24, 6-9pm. Fountain Area on Main St., Welcome by Town Manager, Live Music by In His Glory Quartet, 2016 Facebook Community Grant Award Presentation, Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Raffle Drawing, and Christmas Lighting by Mayor and Special Guest at 7pm. Open House at the Santa House with complimentary hot chocolate and cookies immediately following lighting ceremony. Ice Skating Rink opens at 7pm. Santa is on-site.

Domestic Violence Education/Support Group meets every Tues evening, 6-8pm. If you have ever been abused physically or mentally, or you never want to be abused, please come meet with us! Support Group
