Town of Forest City Events

Thurs. Nov. 24, 6-9pm. Fountain Area on Main St., Welcome by Town Manager, Live Music by In His Glory Quartet, 2016 Facebook Community Grant Award Presentation, Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Raffle Drawing, and Christmas Lighting by Mayor and Special Guest at 7pm. Open House at the Santa House with complimentary hot chocolate and cookies immediately following lighting ceremony. Ice Skating Rink opens at 7pm. Santa is on-site.

Fundraiser

Hundreds of children and youth need financial assistance to attend South Mountain Christian Camp each year, and this is an easy way to help raise sponsorship funds. Eat at Zaxby's in Forest City on Mon. Nov. 28, 5-8pm and mention your support for your meal to count and 10-20% will go towards the scholarship program. If you can't make it to this event, but would like to make a donation, you can do so by mail to SMCC, PO Box 9, Bostic NC 28018.

See Santa

Santa on the Chimney

The holiday season in Lake Lure is never complete without the sights of Santa Claus repelling 200 feet from the most famous chimney of all, Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park on Sat. Dec. 3 & 10. Take joy in meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus, listen to live holiday music, sip on hot cocoa with cookies and have fun with kids' activities.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

A new pet adoption center & Thrift Store. All donations and purchases support the animals we rescue in Rutherford County. Brother Wolf would like to help Rutherford County become a No Kill community. Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop
