Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop
Open daily, starting Thurs., Dec.12, 9am-4pm except for Sundays. Lots of Christmas decorations and gift ideas, beautiful furniture, appliances, bedding, light fixtures, books and winter clothing. South Mountain Christian Camp fundraiser
Hundreds of children and youth need financial assistance to attend SMCC each year, and this is an easy way to help raise funds to meet that need. Eat at Zaxby’s in Forest City on Tues. Dec. 17, 5-8pm. At the end of the event, 10% of all sales made during this time will be donated to SMCC. Funds received will be used to sponsor kids to come to Camp during the summer. If you can’t make it to this event, but would like to make a donation, you can do so by mail to PO Box 9, Bostic NC.
 
Free Christmas Concert
Sinfonietta Evensong Christmas Concert Sun. Dec. 15, 3pm at Cliffside Baptist Church. Free and open to the public. This full orchestra ensemble is comprised the Strings of Evensong and of players and from several local counties. Many ages and levels of playing are involved, including both students and adults. Advance Care Planning: Sessions consist of a private consult to understand the purpose and use of living wills and health care powers of attorney. Sessions are free. Call Joey Revis at Hospice of Rutherford County at 828-245-0095 to schedule an appointment or for more info.
 
Domestic Violence Education/Support Group: Women who are victims of domestic abuse, or who never want to become victims, are invited to a free Domestic Violence Education/Support Group which meets 2 hours each week on Tuesdays.
