New Year’s Day Polar Plunge
Thurs. Jan. 1, 2015. Registration, 10:30am and Plunge, 12pm. Tickets, $20 each. The annual celebration takes place at the Beach at Lake Lure. Prizes will be awarded for youngest, oldest, best costume, etc. After your plunge, wrap yourself in your new oversized Polar Plunge towel and warm up by the fires. Box Creek Wilderness 5K/10K Run
Union Mills Learning Center is holding the 2nd Annual Box Creek Wilderness 5K/10K Run, Sat. Jan. 3rd, 2015. Registration is at 9am and both races are scheduled to start at 10am at UMLC, 6495 Hudlow Rd., Union Mills. Food served after the race while participants enjoy music, a warm fire and vendor surprises.
Beginner Honey Bee School
