Operation Medicine Drop
Sat. March 26, 10am-4pm at the following three locations: (1) Ellenboro Fire Dept., 175 Depot St. (2) Food Lion, Rutherfordton; 169 Railroad Ave. (3) Forest City Fire Dept., 186 S. Church St. Operation Medicine Drop is a prescription drug take-back event that allows residents to turn in their unused/expired prescription and over the counter medications. Proper disposal of unwanted medications helps prevent accidental poisonings, drug abuse, and groundwater contamination.

Country Ham & Chicken Pie Supper

Bingo at the VFW
Every Thursday night at 6PM. Refreshments & food are available for purchase. The top prize for the last game is $500. Proceeds from bingo benefit veterans in the surrounding communities. Located on Withrow Road. Forest City.

Lost Playwrights of Western NC  
Meeting Sat., April 2nd, 3-5PM in Kapplan Auditorium of the Henderson County Library. Anyone interested in any aspect of theatre or creative writing is encouraged to attend. There is no admission fee and no dues are required.

Hospice Spring Volunteer Training

Hands of Hope for Life
18th Annual Walk for Life Sat. April 16. Registration begins at 8am and the Walk begins at 9am. There will be (3) walk sites this year: (1) Crestview Park in Rutherfordton, (2) Corinth Baptist Church in Ellenboro, and (3) Lake Lure Marina at the gazebo. It’s a 2-mile walk around all three sites. All proceeds will go directly to “Hands of Hope for Life” so they can continue to help the women and babies of Rutherford and Polk County. Rutherford County Community Development Credit Union
Mon. March 28, 6-7pm, in the banquet room at JD’s Sports Bar & Grill, 151 Central St., Rutherfordton. Meeting of folks interested in volunteering to help get the Rutherford County Community Development Credit Union established. All skills can be applied to this effort. Refreshments provided.
