Ongoing Book Sale

Computer Classes at The Library

Rutherford County Library, Mountains Branch Library, and Haynes Branch Library will be holding FREE computer classes such as ebooks and audio books, storing and editing digital photos, job search skills, and basic computer skills including Gmail and Facebook. Farmer's Market Relocation

The Rutherford County Farmers Market will be temporarily relocating Thursday evening outdoor market to 109 W. Main St. (the former Lane's Hog Heaven building) in downtown Forest City to allow both indoor crafters and outdoor produce to be featured. Market hours are 3-8pm on Thursdays and Saturdays and Tuesdays from 8am -12pm at the Market Shelter on Depot Street.

4th of July Celebration

Join us at the Old Gilkey School, 4pm until. There will be Food, Games and Fireworks.

Forth of July BBQ

Bat Cave Fire & Rescue, Sat. July 4th, 5-7:30pm. Come out before the fireworks & enjoy a really good BBQ plate and then add your choice of the many delicious homemade desserts. Proceeds from the BBQ will go to purchasing much needed equipment. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

July 4th Freedom Festival

Held on Main Street in Downtown Rutherfordton. This year's event will begin at 4pm with a walking parade, feature the much beloved race for the Gold Soapbox Derby at 5pm, fun patriotic games on the court house lawn, live music beginning at 7pm, food and more. But the showstopper of the festival will be the Fireworks Show beginning around 9:30pm.

Celebrate Recovery

Is a recovery program based on principles from the 8 Beatitudes in Christ's Sermon on the Mount. It is where people can safely work together in helping those dealing with all types of hurts, hang-ups, or habits. Female Teen Domestic Violence Ed/Support Group will meet w/Dr. Johnnie Martin, every Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30pm. Come learn the warning signs of possibly abusive relationships and controlling behaviors. What he calls "love" may actually be abuse. 828-245-1390 Ext. 104 (Sally) for location and details. Domestic Violence Education/Support Group

Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop

Open Wed. thru Sat., 10am-4pm. New items arriving weekly! Proceeds benefit the Rutherford County Humane Society, a no-kill, non-profit 501(C)(3) animal rescue organization.
