11th Annual Lake Lure Olympiad

Aug. 14-16, 6pm-9pm at Rumbling Bald Resort and Chimney Rock State Park in Lake Lure. Free, open to public. 6th Annual Dirty Dancing Festival

Aug. 15, 9am-4pm at Morse Park Meadows, Lake Lure. Festival starts Friday night with a free, lakeside film screening, but continues on Saturday with a throwback dance and music festival. Festivities include live beach and soul bands, dance lessons and performances by the Asheville Ballet & Dance Company, watermelon games and a "Lake Lift Competition."
