Domestic Violence Education/Support Group

FREE Movie night

Sat. Aug. 29, 8:45pm (rain date: Sept 5th) Whitehouse Community Club, 5408 Painters Gap Rd., Union Mills. Join us for "101 Dalmatians" on a huge outdoor screen. Community Blood Drive

In honor of Colby Max Whiteside at the Co-ed Pumpkin Ball Tournament, Sat. Aug. 29, 10am-1:30pm at Crestview Park in Rutherfordton. Whiteside is five years old and currently batting Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Participants can donate funds to help the Whitesides Family with medical costs and also donate blood to help meet the needs of local patients. WNC Vegans and Vegetarians

Camp Fundraiser

Hundreds of children and youth need financial assistance to attend South Mountain Christian Camp each year, this is an easy way to help raise funds to meet that need. Eat at Zaxby's in Forest City, Mon. Aug. 31, 5pm-8pm and 10% of all sales made during this time will be donated to sponsor kids to come to camp during the summer. If you can't make it to this event, but would like to make a donation, you can do so by mail: SMCC, POB 9, Bostic NC 28018.

Celebrate Recovery

Recovery program based on principles from the 8 Beatitudes in Christ's Sermon on the Mount. It is where people can safely work together in helping those dealing with all types of hurts, hang-ups, or habits. Female Teen Domestic Violence Ed/Support Group will meet w/Dr. Johnnie Martin, every Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30pm. Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop

Open Wed. thru Sat., 10am-4pm. New items arriving weekly! Proceeds benefit the Rutherford County Humane Society, a no-kill, non-profit 501(C)(3) animal rescue organization.
