John Condrey received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine from Walter Dalton during a special retirement luncheon for Condrey Friday in Forest City.

Forest City Town Manager John Condrey received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine award from North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper recently during a retirement luncheon at the Pavilion on Park Square. Isothermal Community College President/former Lt. Governor Walter Dalton made the presentation to Condrey. Also shown are Forest City Mayor Steve Holland (left) who officially proclaimed June 28 2019, John Condrey Day in Forest City. Shown second from left is John's brother, Ronnie Condrey. Town and county leaders, town staff and longtime friends of Condrey attended. Condrey retires June 30 after more than 40 years in public service.
