Cordie Huntsinger Skipper, age 91

Cordie Huntsinger Skipper, age 91, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

Born February 22, 1924 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Lee Huntsinger and Maudie Joe Holland Huntsinger. Cordie was a homemaker and caretaker who enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, cooking and sewing. She attended Forest City Foursquare Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Skipper; one daughter, Kathleen Lynch; two sons, J.C.  and Ben Skipper; four brothers, Johnny, Joe, Jim and Charlie Huntsinger; two sisters, Mary Bland and Bell Price and two grandchildren, Teresa Gragg and Gerald Skipper.

Survivors include daughter, Sherry Gragg and husband, Johnny of Rutherfordton; three sons, Jerry Skipper of Chesnee, Grady Skipper and Robert Skipper both of Ellenboro; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverends Ricky Poteat, Leon Brown and Roger Hudgins officiating. Interment followed in the Union Church Cemetery.
