Cordie Walker Womick, age 91, Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013.

     Cordie was born July 23, 1921 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Eliga Walker and Effie Marshall. She had worked for Stonecutter Mills for over 32 years and was a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Womick; one brother, Ed Walker; one sister, Leanner Beheler and one great granddaughter, Crystal Boone.

     Survivors include one daughter, Jean Dyer Boone of Forest City; three grandchildren, Landon Boone, Jr., Sandra Canipe and Alan Boone; four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

     Funeral services were conducted at Harmon Street Baptist Church with Reverend John Godfrey officiating. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
