Cornelia (Corless) Horne Goode, age 73

Cornelia (Corless) Horne Goode, age 73 of Rutherfordton passed away October 18, 2018.

Corless was a woman of faith and held family first in her heart. Cherishing her memory are husband of 55 years Michael H. Goode; son Brian Goode and wife Candie, and children Emalee and Hayden, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter Michelle Goode Mattox and children Mayce and Molly, of Rutherfordton; son Matthew Goode and wife Jessica, and children Piper, Whitney, and Maxwell, of Raleigh.

Corless was preceded in death by her farther; Walter Horne, and mother Margie Edwards Horne, brother; Jackie Horne, sister; Gloria Stewart, and brother; Ricky Horne. Cherishing Corless' memory are a host of loved ones and friends who gave her love, hope, and comfort during her courageous battle against pancreatic cancer for the past three years. Corless was a 1963 graduate of R-S Central High School, 1981 recipient of Junior Scholastic Award from Gardner Webb University, 1982 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Gardner Webb University, and inducted into the Gallery of Distinguished Graduates at Gardner Webb University.

Corless taught school in the Rutherford County School system for twenty-five years concentrating in the areas of Math, English, and Science.

The graveside service was held at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery. Interment was held at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at 1500 Rosecrans Ave. Suite 200 Manhattan, CA 90266 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills at PO Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
