Cova Whitaker Moore, age 94

Cova Whitaker Moore, age 94, of Ellenboro, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Born August 28, 1923 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the John Bunyan Whitaker and Minnie "Gussie" McKinney Whitaker. She was a graduate of Cliffside High School and a longtime and faithful member of Race Path Baptist Church. Cova enjoyed yard work and gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family. Everyone enjoyed her famous fried apple pies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, George Ernest Moore; two sons, George Ernest Moore, Jr. and Charles Ray Moore, Sr.; a granddaughter, and a grandson; three sisters and two brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, William "Bill" E. Moore and wife, Trudi of Ellenboro; three granddaughters; two grandsons; four great-granddaughters; eight great-grandsons. She is also survived by three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Rev Randall Cooper and Rev Kevin Bradley officiated. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
