Crawford "C.B." Harris, age 86

Crawford "C.B." Harris, age 86, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020.

C.B. was born July 4, 1933 in Rutherford County to the late Lonzo Crawford Harris and Emiline Rhodes Crawford. He was a graduate of R-S Central High School and a Korean War veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Army. C.B. worked for the Town of Forest City as an electrician for thirty-two years before retirement. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Forest City Fire Department for many years and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. C.B. started beekeeping at the age of five and continued his hobby throughout his lifetime. He lived a full and blessed life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Roberta Stuart Harris and a daughter, Rita McClain.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Rachel Critchley (Jim) of Rutherfordton and Rebecca Moeller (Greg) of Story City, Iowa; brother, Tom Harris (Beth) of Alma, Georgia; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at New Bethel Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Honors were provided by the Rutherford County Fire Department Honor Guard and the Rutherford County Military Honor Guard.
