Crayton Junior Toney, age 90

Crayton Junior Toney, age 90, of Forest City, passed awy Monday, August 8, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Furman Toney and Etta Frasheur Toney. Crayton worked in auto body repair for many years; was a member of Florence Baptist Church, Forest City where he had served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and RA leader; and served as a fireman in the US Navy during World War II. He was also an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Boyd Toney, Howard Toney, Jim Toney, Katherine T. Bridges, Carl Toney, and his son-in-law, Mark Holland.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Johnson Toney; son, C. Greg Toney and wife Mary; daughter, Rosemari Holland; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services were held in the Florence Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
