Curtis Benjamin Hudgins, age 86

Curtis Benjamin Hudgins, age 86 of Forest City passed away Friday, December 18, 2015.

He was born September 30, 1929 in Spartanburg County, SC and was a son of the late T.E. and Bessie Bishop Hudgins. Curtis worked for many years in marketing and quality control for local trucking companies. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he has was a deacon, and had been active in both Training Union and Sunday School. His greatest love was church music and singing in the Bethany Choir. He and his wife also enjoyed spending time at the Myrtle Beach Travel Park in Myrtle Beach where Curtis lead the music at weekly camp worship. He also honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Carroll Hudgins, a sister, Victoria Luckadoo of Forest City, as well as, a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Bethany Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Fox and Reverend Marvin Green officiating. Members of the Men's Adult Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family respectfully request that memorials be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Bethany Baptist Church, 760 Bethany Church Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
