David Phelps will be appearing in concert on Saturday, May 31 at 7:00 PM at RS Central High School Auditorium. Proceeds from the performance will be shared with Rutherford Regional Health Foundation to support health and wellness initiatives in the local community.

Phelps is an American Christian vocalist, songwriter and vocal arranger, best known as the tenor in the Gaither Vocal Band.  He has also released several solo albums, including four Christmas collections.

A graduate from Baylor University, David Phelps is credited among today’s most spectacular voices. His seemingly endless vocal range extends more than three octaves and couples with his gift for communicating a song.  He has brought the house down in the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and The White House. He is a multiple platinum artist, two-time Grammy Award Winner and four-time Dove Award winner. Phelps is part of the current Gaither Vocal Band, sharing the tenor part with Wes Hampton.

His 2012 live concert DVD, David Phelps: Classic, has received acclaim from across gospel music and beyond and has been featured on numerous television networks, including PBS. This newer work shares an additional aspect of his talent and exposes his audiences to classical titles such as “Nessum Dorma”, “Bring Him Home” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. His desire as an artist is to open the door for people who don’t know or who have discarded classical music.  Both his gospel and classic albums will be featured at the concert.

Jill Miracle, Executive Director of Rutherford Regional Health Foundation explains, “We have worked with this phenomenal artist for a very long time, trying to develop the right set of circumstances to bring him to our county.  Thanks to Lord Willing Promotions, we were able to form a wonderful partnership to make this concert a reality for Foundation donors and guests from all over the region.” All proceeds will be invested in projects that preserve or improve the health of Rutherford County citizens.

Tickets from the event are at www.Itickets.com or by calling the Rutherford Regional Health Foundation Office at 828-286-5070. All remaining tickets are $30 each, with a group rate for ten or more sold together.  All seats are reserved and should be purchased in advance.
