Defoy Elbert Gossett, age 85, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday.
Funeral services were held at Crowe’s Mortuary.
A native of Cowpens, SC, he was the son of the late Charlie and Ottie Stephens Gossett.
Defoy was a Navy veteran, serving in WWII. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Lorene Wilson and husband DJ of Cowpens, SC, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Grace Campbell Gossett, brothers Nelson and Elmer Gossett and sister Thelma Guy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, POB 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
Crowe Mortuary is serving the family.
