Della H. Moore, age 85

Della H. Moore, age 85, of Ellenboro, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017.

Born September 21, 1931 in Mitchell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Oakley Jeter Holtsclaw and Ella Mae Allred Holtsclaw. She worked in textiles for many years until her retirement and was a member of Race Path Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Bailey and two sons, Eddie Bowen and Paul Bowen and one granddaughter. She was also preceded by one brother, Johnny Holtsclaw.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Faye Toney (Carl) of Rutherfordton and Debra Blanton (Joe) of Ellenboro; two sons, Alan Bowen (Rita) of Rutherfordton and Leon Bowen of Ellenboro; three sisters, Geretha Walker of Caroleen, Ethel Garver of Lincolnton and Carolyn Greene of Hickory. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Neil Murray, Reverend Jack Crain and Reverend Paul Toney officiating. Interment followed in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
