Diane Whisnant, age 63

Diane Whisnant, age 63, of Forest City, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

Diane was born August 18, 1949 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Clifford Campbell and Margaret Byrd Campbell.  She worked as a supervisor for Cone Mills for many years and was also a lab technician for Hamrick Mills in Gaffney for several years.  She was a faithful member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church.  She enjoyed reading her bible, working on her computer and listening to music.  She loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Jack Tipton and Hoyt Thompson; step-mother, Fern McEntire; one sister, Debra Campbell and an infant grandson, Jacob Tipton.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Whisnant; two sons, Randy Tipton and wife, Rhonda of Henrietta and Brian Tipton of Sandy Mush; step-son, Mike Whisnant and wife, Linda of Mooresboro; step-daughter, Libby Hames and husband, Donald of Mooresboro; four grandchildren, Tyler Tipton, Zachary Tipton, Scott Burgess and Anissa Hames.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Harris and Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating.  Interment followed in Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery.
