Another Famous North Carolinian... Jon Reep Stand Up Comedian, Film & Television
Jon Reep was born on March 26, 1972 in Hickory, North Carolina. He does stand up comedy, film and television. He started his career in 1998. He is married to Genta. He is known for his portrayal as “Hemi Guy” in the Dodge Ram commercials. His famous line was “That thing got a Hemi?”. He more recently was the winner of the fifth season of “Last Comic Standing on NBC”. He was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina and has one younger brother, Jason. His father David worked as the manager of a Goodyear store and as a part time police officer. Their mother was a receptionist at the local telephone company. Jon was raised as a Baptist. He attended Fred T. Foard in Newton, North Carolina and played football there. After graduating from high school he began attended Catawba Valley Community College and also worked at his father’s Goodyear store. In 1992 he transferred to North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. and graduated in 1996 with a BA degree in theatre, mass communication and public and interpersonal communication. After graduation, he landed a job at UNC-TV. In 1998 he began his stand up career. He continues to rise in his profession. |
