Don Geraghty, age 77

Don Geraghty, age 77, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019.

Don was born August 22, 1941 in Yonkers, NY to the late John Joseph Geraghty and Ethel Susan Minovich Geraghty. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was of the Catholic faith. Don worked as a millwright for General Motors for thirty years before retirement. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, gardening, woodworking and was an avid hunter. Don fulfilled his patriotic spirit by being an active member of the local DAV chapter and proudly serving on the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Carrie Geraghty and a brother, Jack Geraghty.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife if forty-one years, Bertha Geraghty; three daughters, Debbie Ouellette (Dan) of Lisbon, Maine, Kimberly Wilke (Chris) of Urbandale, Iowa and Karen Marsh (Russell) of Tallahassee, Florida; son, Michael Keon (Julie) of West Park, NY. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

A memorial service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel and military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
