Donald Nelson Dysart, Sr., age 71

Donald Nelson Dysart, Sr., age 71, of Lincolnton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2015.

Born July 20, 1943 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Beaulo Dysart, Sr. and Eldaree Owens Dysart. He was a graduate of Chase High School and worked for Haynes Manufacturing for many years before his retirement. Donald enjoyed music and was a D.J. for K.D Support until his illness and drove a van for the Church of the Exceptional for many years. He was a caring and kindhearted man.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald Nelson Dysart, Jr.; grandson, Richard Donald Williams and two brothers, Beaulo Dysart, Jr. and Bobby Dysart.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Dysart Gilbert and husband, Eddie of Lincolnton; Cindy's mother, Brenda Dysart Ledford of Lawndale; grandson, Ricky Williams, Jr. and wife, Alisha of Shelby; two granddaughters, Miranda Dysart of Ellenboro and Brittany Smith of Forest City; daughter in-law, Wendy Dysart of Ellenboro; one brother, William Faye Dysart of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Mattie Lackey of Caroleen, Helen D. Rieks and husband, Rodney of Gastonia and Hazel D. Appling of Forest City.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Andy Stevens, Reverend Mattie Lackey and Hazel Appling officiating. Interment followed at Alexander Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Catawba County, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 in order to help cover medical expenses.

The family wishes to thank all of those who graciously contributed their time and finances during Donald's illness.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
