Dorcas Martin Greenlee, age 91

Dorcas Martin Greenlee, age 91, of Forest City, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

Born July 18, 1925 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late John Lustus Martin and Lillie Vernon Weaver Martin. She was a hairdresser for several years and owned and operated the Cut & Curl Beauty Shop. Dorcas also worked in textiles for many years as a seamstress. She loved growing flowers and gardening and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Forest City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, David Clint Greenlee; a great-granddaughter, and seven brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Melvin Greenlee and wife, Rita of Mooresboro and Mike "Grizz" Greenlee and wife, Renee of Forest City; two sisters, Eunice Harrill and Inez Martin both of Forest City and one brother, Charles Martin of Harris. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
