Doris Ann Jackson Hooper, age 78

Doris Ann Jackson Hooper, age 78, of Mill Spring, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018.

She is predeceased by her husband, Leonard Eugene (Gene) Hooper; son, Randy Waters; brother, Donald Griffin. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Larry Waters and wife Renea, Bobby Waters, and Delinda Anderson; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Revels and late husband Earl, Dorothy Reid and husband Albert, Pat Pittman and husband James, James Griffin and wife Ann, Rick Giles and wife Kim, and sister-in-law, Shirley Griffin. Doris was a faithful member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church for many years. She worked as a waitress most of her life. Doris enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She will be remembered for being thoughtful, helpful, laughing, and always having a kind word. She will forever be remembered and missed by all that loved her.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Grassy Knob Baptist Church, Grassy Knob Road, Rutherfordton, 28139.
