Doris Evelyn Philbeck Rhyne

Doris Evelyn Philbeck Rhyne, of Charlotte, formerly a resident of River Hills Plantation in Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Doris was born in Ellenboro, and was the daughter of the late Carl and Dorcus Jones Philbeck. She was a graduate of Ellenboro High School. Doris was devoted to her family and friends, loved gardening, cooking, and flowers of any kind, especially her orchids.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Darold Philbeck, a son, Alan Craig Rhyne and in 2016, her husband of 62 years, Robert Franklin (Bob) Rhyne.

Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Rhyne Wolfe and husband Gary of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Debra Harris Rhyne of Belmont; his three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial service was held in the Corinth Baptist Church in Ellenboro, with Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. Inurnment followed in the church cemetery.
