Dorothy Greene "Dot" Coker, age 85 of Bostic-Sunshine Highway, Bostic, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Dot was born on December 16, 1930 in Rutherford County to her parents, the late Renzo and Verdia Biggerstaff Greene. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bostic and for many years served as the chairperson of the Flower Committee. She was the former owner and operator of Water's Florist in Forest City where she enjoyed her love for flowers and making floral arrangements. Many in Rutherford County remember the many years she was a representative for Tupperware helping to host parties throughout the area. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Coker in 2015 and brothers, Bobby Greene and David Greene as well as a sister, Barbara G. Henderson.

Survivors include her son, Eddie Coker and his wife Teresa of Bostic, a daughter, Madge Moody and her husband Kevin of Bostic, a sister, Kay Watts and her husband Theron of Ellenboro, two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one step great-grandchild, and one step great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Bostic with Reverend Clay Earle, and Reverend Sam Henderson officiating. A committal service followed in the Glenwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating at the graveside.

The Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
