Dorothy Lee Davis, age 93

Dorothy Lee Davis, age 93 of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019.

Dorothy was born on April 21, 1926 in McDowell County and was a daughter of the late William Calvin Davis and Arrie Williams Davis. She worked for many years at Burlington Industries at the Caroleen Plant and later for Fieldcrest Cannon where she retired.

Dorothy was a lifelong Baptist and she enjoyed her yard and the outdoors and she was the happiest when tending her flowers and watching birds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde Davis, Worth Davis, J. C. Davis, and Charles Davis as well as sisters, Mary Sue Davis and Carrie Hollifield.

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Amy Hudson and husband Tim, Lynn Ruff and husband Mike and their children, T. J. Hudson, Angela Jolley, Conrad and Bennett Ruff.

The funeral service was held in The Padgett and King Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
