Dorothy W. Arrowood, age 88

Dorothy W. Arrowood, age 88, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016.

Born November 27, 1927 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Roy E. Walker and Sarah Luna Jenkins Walker. She worked in textiles for forty-five years before retirement and was a member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with all kinds of plants and flowers and was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Arrowood; two sisters, Lorene Pitchford and Shirley Walker; one brother, David Walker; two nephews, Dell Holmes and Jesse Pitchford and niece, Christi Edmonds.

Survivors include her son, Mike Arrowood and wife, Jill of Forest City; two grandsons,; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Evelyn Daves and Joyce Zink both of Forest City; brother, Charles Walker also of Forest City; sister-in-law, Linda Walker of Bostic. She is also survived by four nieces, Marie Ledford of Glenwood, Linda Cunningham of Forest City, Jan Soares of Forest City and Jennifer Ball of Charlotte; two nephews, Joel Cooper of Charlotte and Timothy Walker of Forest City.

A memorial service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Inurnment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
