Douglas Howard McMurray, age 78

Douglas Howard McMurray, age 78 of Spindale passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016.

Born August 29, 1938 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Clifton Howard McMurray and Esther Deck McMurray. He was a graduate of R.S. Central High School and was the owner and operator of McMurray T.V. and Alarm Company in Spindale prior to his retirement, was a member of the Spindale United Methodist Church, a former member of the Jaycees and was an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Riddle McMurray, and a son, Mark Douglas McMurray.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda McMurray of Rutherfordton; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberli and Mark Flaugher of Chapel Hill; three grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Landon Riddle of Raleigh.

Memorial services were held at Spindale UMC with the Reverend J. Ross O'Neal officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
