Eddie Lynn Watkins, age 66

Eddie Lynn Watkins, age 66, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016.

Born on Saturday, February 18, 1950 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Fern Watkins McEntire. Eddie was a member of Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness. He worked in Custodial Maintenance for the Richmond Hill Apartments for many years and for the Rutherford County Courthouse before retirement. Eddie was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Pansey and Ed Watkins.

Survivors include daughter, Debbie Flynn and husband, Terry of Rutherfordton; son, Kyle Wells of Forest City; two brothers, David Lee Owens of Rutherfordton and Charlie Owens of Union Mills; sister, Janice Jones also of Rutherfordton. Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive him.

A funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Paul Lane officiating. Burial will be private for the family.
