Edgar Newton Elliott Jr., age 83

Edgar Newton Elliott Jr., age 83, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Estella and Edgar Newton Elliott Sr. Edgar was a member of First Baptist Church Rutherfordton and a retired driver for Roadway Trucking.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Winnie Holler Elliott of the home; daughter, Teresa Carroll and husband Lawrence of Greenville, SC; sons, Craig Elliott and wife Sheila of Spartanburg, SC, Chris Elliott of Piedmont, SC and Terrell Elliott of Rutherfordton; seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Crowe's Mortuary with Rev. Tim Marsh officiating. Burial followed at Graceland East Memorial Park in Greenville, SC

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
