Edith Hopper Cordell, age 90, of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
She was the daughter of the late Zeno Hopper and the late Bertie Hopper and she was a native of Rutherford County. Edith was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. She was widow of the late James Logan Cordell whom she shared 61 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Cordell and one daughter Jenny Cordell; one sister Ila Mae Atwater and three brothers Guy Hopper, Barney Hopper, Esper Hopper. Edith was the world's greatest cook. She loved gardening, making quilts, collecting tea pots and
Crocheting.
She is survived by three grand-daughters, daughter-in-law; Brenda Cordell of Rutherfordton; five great-grandchildren.
The Funeral service was held at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Wilkins and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. Interment was held at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
