Edna Estelle Greene, 96

Edna Estelle Greene, 96, of Ellenboro, passed away Monday, March 12, 2013.

A native of Rutherford County, she was born on April 26, 1916 to the late Minor Lovelace and Mary Lovelace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G.M. Greene; one daughter, Helen Burger; and one sister, Ruth Jones. She was a seamstress and was a member of Walls Baptist Church is Bostic, North Carolina.

Ms. Greene is survived by her son, Gerald Greene and wife Pat of Knoxville Tennessee; and by her daughter, Mary Jo Whisnant of Ellenboro. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ms. Greene was held at Walls Baptist Church in Bostic with the Rev. David Philbeck and Rev. Robert Toney officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
