Edward John Lach, 86 of Lake Lure, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018.

Born in Yonkers, NY, he lived his life between, Syracuse, NY, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Lake Lure, NC.

He was a Navy veteran and graduate of Syracuse University in Engineering.

Ed is survived by his wife and best friend Elise of 62 years; daughters Roseann Pena (son-in-law John), Diane George (son-in-law John, decd.), and Joanne Bingo (son-in-law Bill); three grandchildren, sister Cassie Butynski and several nephews and nieces, and all his friends.

Ed was a passionate man whose first love were his wife and family. For Ed, it was always all about family. His second love was supporting his community with many hours of volunteer work.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6 from 4:30PM to 6PM, at Crowe's Funeral Home, 118 College Ave, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Starting at 6:00PM in the Chapel at Crowe's Funeral Home, Father H. Burke from the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Forest City, will conduct the Rosary. On Saturday, April 7, at 11:00AM mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Forest City with a reception/luncheon to follow in the parish hall, by the Ladies Guild, 1024 W. Main St., Forest City, NC, 28043.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org/support or Four Seasons Hospice, Flat Rock, NC www.fourseasonscfl.org

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
