Ernest Kenneth (Ernie) Davidson, age 73

Ernest Kenneth (Ernie) Davidson, age 73 of Ellenboro, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015.

He was born October 4, 1942 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late James and Mary Campbell Davidson. Ernie was a graduate of Chase High School Class of 1961 and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Independence. He was a member of Florence Baptist Church, the FBIC Sunday School Class and was retired from Timken Corporation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Davidson and Dorothy Seay.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Grason Davidson, two sons, Jody Davidson and Fiancée, Patty Jones, and Kevin Davidson all of Ellenboro, a daughter, Dana Davidson Zaffuto and husband Jonathan of Rutherfordton, a brother, J. W. Davidson of Forest City, and his aunt, Lucille Davidson. There are two grandchildren, Easton and Cameron Zaffuto, as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held at Florence Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt and Reverend Joe Ervin officiating. Interment followed in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
