Ernestine Mintz Toney, 88

Ernestine Mintz Toney, 88, of NC Highway 120, passed away on Saturday, August 03, 2013. 

A native of Cleveland County, she was born on January 02, 1925, a daughter of the late William D. And Edith McCraw Mintz. She was a hairdresser. Mrs. Toney was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was a former teacher in the beginners department and worked in the extension department.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vernon Toney; two brothers, Rush Shull Mintz and Fred Mintz; two sisters, Eloise Martin and Frances Walker; infant brother, Billie Mintz.

Mrs. Toney is survived by her son, Steve Vernon Toney and wife Louise of Ellenboro; two daughters, Nancy Hallman and husband Mike of Ellenboro and Paulette Mode and husband Clyde of Ellenboro; one sister, Betty Funderburke of Charlotte; one sister-in-law, Betty Toney; one brother-in-law, The Rev. Dr. Robert Toney; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at Bethel Baptist Church of Ellenboro with the Rev. Michael Sepaugh, Rev. Dr. Robert Toney, and Rev. Dr. Wayne Blackwood officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.
