Estelle Harris Blanton Greene, 87

Estelle Harris Blanton Greene, 87, of Rutherfordton, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. 

A native of Rutherford County, she was born on November 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Weldon O. And Stella Jones Harris. She was a retired textile worker and was a member of Goode’s Creek Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, James Lee Blanton; her second husband, Hubert Greene; four brothers and one sister. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth James Blanton and wife Barbara of Chesnee and Roland Lee Blanton and wife Joyce of Cliffside; one daughter, Patricia Blanton Ingle and husband Livingston of Sandy Much; one sister, Macy Munsey of Cliffside; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. 

Funeral services were held at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Cecil Lovelace and Rev. Glenn Walker officiating. Burial followed at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
