Ethel Mae Owens, age 90, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016.

She was the daughter of the late Badger Bryant Epley and the late Lula Mae Haynes Epley and a native of Rutherford County. Ethel was the widow of the late Johnny Agustus Owens. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons: Hicks Owens and his wife Teresa. Donald Owens and his wife Shannon. Four Sisters: Betty Hudgins, Joyce Toney, Louise Cuthbertson, Marie Davis. One Brother: Vernon Epley. Four Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren, Four Step Grandchildren, Four Step-Great Grandchildren and Two Step Great-Great-Grandchildren.

The Funeral service was held at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Scott Courtney officiating. Interment was held at Mount Vernon Baptist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church; 2676 Hudlow Road; Forest City NC 28043 or Shiloh Baptist Church; 1850 Poors Ford Road; Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
