Eula Mae Moore, age 89

Eula Mae Moore, age 89, of Burnsville, NC, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 

Born June 9, 1924 in Polk County, she was a daughter of the late Jason Hensley and Lauraney Morrow Hensley. She worked for Cone Mills for many years before retirement and was a member of Chase Baptist Church.  Eula Mae enjoyed cooking, gardening and taking special care of her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Boyd Moore; daughter, Betty Lou Duncan; grandson, Phillip Duncan and four sisters.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Loraine Duncan and William Duncan both of Henrietta and Tracie Duncan of Caroleen; ten great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews which includes her loving caretakers, Julia Higgins and April Gurley both of Burnsville.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Joe Bennett and Reverend Scott Butler officiating. A private interment was held at High Shoal Baptist Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Yancey County for their devoted care and compassion toward Eula Mae.
