Evelyn "Mom" Hensley, age 81

Evelyn "Mom" Hensley, age 81, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018.

Born December 30, 1936 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter to the late Jim Street and Linine Lucy Compton Street. Evelyn worked as manager of a dry cleaners for many years and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She loved going on cruises and visiting the various island ports. Evelyn also enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling and trips to the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Martha Street; first husband, Robert Lee Hensley, Sr. and second husband, Ted Haurin; two brothers, Jimmy Street and Earl Street; two sisters, Voilie Wilson and Bernie Steele.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Elaine Hensley of Warrenton, Virginia and two sons, Robert Hensley, Jr. and Wayne Hensley both of Forest City; two grandchildren, and a nephew.

A memorial service to honor Evelyn's life was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel.
