Evelyn Roberson Edwards, age 9

Evelyn Roberson Edwards, age 91 of Forest City, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015.

She was born November 27, 1923 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late James and Agnes Hamrick Roberson. Evelyn worked as an Administrative Assistant for the North Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation where she retired at the age of seventy. She was a member of several professional organizations including NARS and SENAC and was also received the Secretary Of The Year award. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Forest City where she was a lifelong member of the Love Circle Sunday School Class, and was active in the Triple "L" Club as well as the Forest City Senior Citizens.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn Geraldine "Gerry" Hester, and her siblings, Britt Roberson, C.L. Roberson, Alifair Reep, Earleen McBrayer, and Joe Roberson.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca "Beckie" Huntley and her husband Gene of Rutherfordton, a brother, George Roberson and wife Pat of Belmont, NC, sisters, Jane R. Campbell of Forest City, Betty Anne Wright of Shelby and Patsy R. Gray of Greenville, SC, sister-in-law, Dorothy Hutchins of Forest City. There are also three grandchildren, Joseph Richard Randall, Jr and wife Jessica of Forest City, Reagan K. Randall of Asheville, and Emily Hester Southards of Lawndale, as well as two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Elizabeth Randall.

Funeral services were held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend J. Anthony Spencer and Reverend Dr. Diane Nelson officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
