Faye Huskey Brooks, age 86

Faye Huskey Brooks, age 86 of Spartanburg and formerly of Rutherford County passed away Friday, December 16, 2016.

She was born April 28, 1930 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Edgar W. and Bertie Burnett Huskey. Faye was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and worked in the insurance industry for many years in Forest City. She was a remarkable and kind woman who loved her family, old Hymns, and the children's nursery at Corinth Baptist Church. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Brooks in 1998 and brothers, Jack Huskey, Hyman Huskey, Maurice Huskey, Ray Huskey, and Marcus Huskey.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Roy Brooks and Brenda Wright Brooks, two grandchildren, all of Spartanburg, SC, sisters Dorothy Blanton of Greenville, SC and, Laura Ann Childs of Gastonia, NC.

A service from the graveside was held at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellenboro with Reverend Ad Hopper officiating.
