Floyd O. Buchanan, age 68, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012.
Floyd was born to the late Floyd Buchanan and Darrell Hughes Buchanan. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Buchanan; one sister, Charlotte Lowery and three brothers, Cephas Buchanan, Fate Buchanan and Emory Buchanan.
Survivors include his daughter, Lamonda Henderson and husband, Larry of Forest City; step-daughter, Laura Newton and husband, Eddie of Buffalo, SC; two brothers, Denver Buchanan of Forest City and Terry Byers of Caroleen; two sisters, Nell Toney of Bostic and Shirley Buchanan of Rutherfordton.
He is also survived by one granddaughter, Jada Bell of Buffalo, SC and three great grandchildren, Skylar Trout, Scott Trout and Hunter Trout.
Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be in the Rutherford County Memorial Mausoleum with military honors being rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, POB 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
