On her very last day, Danielle Withrow, Forest City’s first Town Planner/Downtown Development Director, introduces Amy Bridges, the new Forest City Downtown/ Community Development Manager. For the first time, Amy sits behind her new desk.

Fourteen years ago, a new position was created and a local Hollis Community lady, Danielle Withrow applied and was hired to face the challenge presented to her. Danielle had been a consultant traveling all over the United States when she decided she wanted to come and stay home. Her input and contributions for Forest City became and remain overwhelming and very beneficial to the city she loves.

She has always embodied a “can do” and “why not” spirit and welcomed every challenge. The result can be felt presently and for years to come. Danielle is always “hands on”. Nothing was beyond her and she loved people, especially those who could contribute good things for Forest City and as far as that matters, Rutherford County. The lady taking over her job, Amy Bridges said: “She’s leaving big shoes to fill!” Many of you have seen Danielle at McNair Field. She’s a big baseball fan and loves the Forest City Owls. Yes, she was instrumental in the Owls coming to Forest City. Danielle is not retiring, but more correctly, redirecting her energies in writing, painting, and traveling. We’re sure we haven’t heard the last of her. She said: “We’ve accomplished a lot, but I always wanted to do more.”

We wish her the best and she will be missed. As for her replacement, Danielle cannot say enough good things about Amy. “She’s great and will do well.” We wish both the absolute best. Ladies, thanks for all you’ve done and are going to do!
